Founded in 1971, COI began with a single emergency shelter and intervention network. Today, it is one of Oregon's oldest and busiest social service agencies. In 1996, COI received Oregon's first Governor's Award for Community Partnerships, recognizing the agency as a progressive and effective collaborator with other agencies, foundations, corporations, the community, and clients. It is COI's mission to help people help themselves and others lead healthy, productive lives. Community Outreach provides a broad range of services under one roof, including: emergency homeless shelter for seven days only; transitional housing for 90 days or longer for those working toward stability; medical and dental clinics for uninsured people; an on-site food bank; crisis intervention, information, and referral; substance abuse counseling; affordable professional counseling; and services for families who are escaping domestic violence. All services, along with resources and support, are provided to affect lasting change.
OutreachCenters.net: We work hard to provide as much pertinent information as possible about the outreach centers listed on the website. This is a difficult task
as their is so much valuable information and such little time to obtain it. If you see that our listing does not provide enough information or is no longer a valid
outreach center, please let us know by filling out the comment form below.
