Christ's Outreach for the Blind was founded and incorporated in 1997. The founder Michael Gates (blinded at the age of 32) envisioned a camp for blind and handicapped children that could fill in a service gap usually not met by traditional camps; a camp entirely focused on each participant's individual needs and abilities regardless of their handicap. Christ's Outreach for the Blind's purpose is to create a camp where children can build a stronger self-esteem and meet challenges that will help them achieve a greater independence through a fun and safe learning environment. Many blind and physically handicapped suffer from low self-esteem, a lack of self-confidence and motivation. Through the programs at Christ's Outreach for the Blind, we feel that these needs will be addressed. At the current time, Christ's Outreach for the Blind is under construction. The organization has met two-thirds of its capital campaign for building funds. The camp plans to open in the spring of 2004 if construction is completed.

as their is so much valuable information and such little time to obtain it. If you see that our listing does not provide enough information or is no longer a valid
