It strives to do so by: 1. Forming healthy, faith-based relationships among: - WKO and our participants and their support systems - WKO and other appropriate service providers/organizations, and church groups - staff members. 2. Providing both home and center-based, culturally sensitive, and locally grounded educational and health care programs staffed by lay, professional and volunteer workers. The goal of WKO is to decrease abuse/neglect, violence, and infant mortality/morbidity while promoting local community involvement, growth and leadership. We believe such efforts can have a significant and positive impact on adult outcomes.

The facility is a new building that strives to provide a homelike environment. The facility can house twenty boys who have been placed in our home because of abuse or neglect. We strive to rebuild loving relationships with family members through services provided on-site.

Using a method that involves the poor in their own development (Participatory Human Development), we help people in poor communities build the skills and abilities to solve their own problems, thereby bringing systemic and generational change. Outreach International seeks to limit dependency by working in communities for not more than 5 years, and building local community organizations to enable the people to implement the change they seek.

Food Outreach, Inc.      3117 Olive St St. Louis, MO 63103 website: http://www.foodoutreach.org Established in 1988, FOOD OUTREACH continues to be the only nonprofit organization in the greater St. Louis Area that is focused on providing comprehensive nutritional support to low-income individuals with life-threatening illness - specifically Cancer or HIV/AIDS. FOOD OUTREACH, in fulfilling its mission, provides nutritious meals, groceries, and nutrition education and counseling a Registered Dietitian to clients residing in 137 Missouri and Illinois zip codes to enhance their quality of life and optimize their medical treatments. Food Outreach clients may: - be indigent, - find preparing meals difficult or impossible due to disease or treatment, - be in the workplace and can extend their employment by removing extraneous demands on their energy, - not have consistent access to nutritious foods. In 2008, Food Outreach expects to provide 365,000 meals.

We have plans to provide onsite daycare, with an emphasis on early childhood education, for students while they are in class. We opened our doors in August 2000 and the G.E.D Class, Computer Class, and Food Pantry are going strong. We plan to continually expand our outreach and duplicate it in various locations.
