Beautiful Gate Outreach Center Information:



Here at Beautiful Gate we offer a variety of programs and services geared toward HIV/AIDS awareness, prevention and outreach. All services are confidential and free.

Caring Hearts Support Group: a monthly support group meeting for men and women who are living with HIV/AIDS. Light refreshments are served. Free transportation to the group is also provided.

Carolyn's Circle of Mothers: support system for mothers who have teen or adult children who are currently living with or who have died as a result of AIDS related complications.

Dorcas Clothing Ministry: free clothing (new or slightly used) give-away for those living with HIV/AIDS.

Early Intervention: individualized focus to help those living with HIV/AIDS transition into medical care, HIV case management and other important supportive services. Includes a referral system based on the needs of each individual.

Educational Presentations: HIV/AIDS education sessions provided by trained and certified staff and volunteers. Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of each audience.

Faith Community Ministry Development and Mentoring: for faith communities requesting HIV/AIDS education, program development and technical assistance while working towards establishment of their HIV ministry.

HIV Rapid Testing: Confidential, free, rapid HIV testing and results (within approximately 45 minutes) available Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm; Tuesdays, 10am to 8pm. No appointment is needed. A current valid photo ID is required. (Available for those 13 years and older)

Home and Hospital Visitation & Grief Support: trained counselors to visit persons living with HIVAIDS in their homes, hospitals and other external locations.

H.O.P.E. (HIV & Older Persons Prevention and Education): specialized HIV education sessions and testing for those who are 50 years old and above.

Karen's Dreamgirls: A support group for women living with the challenge of HIV. This support group creates a safe place for participants to share thoughts, create opportunities and encourages them to live out their dreams. Meets once a month. Light refreshments are served. Free transportation to the group also provided.

Massage Therapy: Licensed massage therapist available weekly (by appointment only) for free chair massage.

Medical Services: Please see information listed below under œWellness Program 

M.E.D.S (Maintaining Effective Drug Status) program: individualized medication education counseling by pharmacist (by appointment only).

Men Mentoring Men program: special peer male lead HIV education and prevention program.

Mike's Men: A support group for men of all backgrounds living with the challenge of HIV. Meets once a month. Light refreshments are served. Free transportation to the meeting is also provided.

One-on-One Counseling: private professional care by trained counselors for those living with HIV/AIDS and also for their family members.

Outreach: street and fixed site outreach to targeted areas (local communities, churches, etc.) within New Castle County providing condoms and HIV educational prevention materials.

Resource Center: daily on-site information center with books and literature available for check out.

œSaving Our Sisters : HIV prevention and education sessions and workshops for women and female teens. Age appropriate sessions are also available for girls who have reached the age of 12. (An annual conference is held in early March to acknowledge œNational Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day  - March 10th). For more information contact SuzanneBGOC@aol.com. Sunday Breakfast HIV Prevention Outreach: specialized outreach and HIV prevention education to persons who participate in local free breakfast programs at Bethel AME and Mt. Joy UM Churches.

Theatrical performances: drama performances to educate all ages about HIV prevention.

Transportation Program: transportation provided for persons with HIV/AIDS to medically related appointments. A referral from HIV case management is needed to access this service.

Wellness Program: for those living with HIV/AIDS, onsite medical care provided by a team from the Christiana Care Health System Wellness Program for those living with HIV/AIDS. Care is available to those newly diagnosed with HIV and also for those who are aware of their status and currently not receiving medical treatment. Services are by appointment only.

œWomen2Women  project: specialized empowerment, HIV prevention, education and substance abuse awareness program for women who are incarcerated or reside in transitional housing.

Youth Prevention Program: HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted disease awareness and prevention for youth. Focus is on behavior, peer pressure, consequences and independent thought and action.
